Changelog
Every real update, in order — sourced straight from the same file that drives the app's own "What's New" popup. No marketing copy, just what shipped.
1.0.0-beta.8.1 — 2026-10-04
This update makes live hand importing and background analysis more reliable.
- Reduced excessive CPU and memory use during repeated refreshes and live imports.
- Prevented expensive analysis jobs from piling up while new hands arrive.
- Stopped duplicate or already-imported hands from needlessly refreshing analysis.
- Improved background analysis and shutdown handling.
- Fixed interrupted statistics rebuilds incorrectly appearing complete.
- Kept Focus results current when new hands arrive during analysis.
1.0.0-beta.8 — 2026-10-02
PokerForge now picks the leak most worth fixing, tracks whether you're actually fixing it, and lets you practise it.
After updating: PokerForge may need to analyse your existing hands once to power the new Focus features. Smaller databases are handled automatically; for larger databases, PokerForge will ask before starting. You can run it later if you prefer, from Tools → Rebuild Stats Database.
Focus: work on a leak and see it improve
- Improve → Focus shows the leaks most worth your time. Choose Work on this and PokerForge records where you are now and sets a target.
- As you play, it checks your new hands and tells you whether you're improving, have fixed the leak, or have slipped back. Leaks you've fixed are kept in your improvement history.
Train This Leak
- On a "folding too much facing an open" leak, Train this leak runs a 12-decision practice session built from your own hands: spots where you fold hands the solver plays, the close calls around them, and a few clear folds.
- Answers are graded the way solvers really play — main play, also played, played occasionally, or not played — with your real record in each spot shown beside it.
- Spots you miss come back in a later session. Practice never changes your Focus results; only your real hands do.
Biggest Opportunities
- A new first view under Leaks ranks what matters most, judged from every decision you've made rather than whole-hand stats.
Improvements
- More trustworthy advice: comparisons with the solver only use spots the solver actually covers, and differences from the player pool are shown as patterns to watch, not instructions.
- Corrected solver charts for several spots facing an open raise. Your findings update automatically.
Fixed
- PokerForge could crash if you closed it while a page was still loading.
Still Beta
- Train This Leak currently covers one leak type: folding too much facing an open, in 6-max cash games at 100bb.
- Tournaments aren't included in Focus.
1.0.0-beta.7 — 2026-09-29
A new sidebar, hand filters, a rebuilt villain GTO card, importing downloaded hand files, smaller backups you can keep off your computer, and updates that install themselves from now on.
After updating, run Tools → Rebuild Stats Database once. The new hand filters need details your older hands don't have yet — until you rebuild, filters only cover hands imported from now on.
Import downloaded hand files
- File → Import Hand Files and Import Hand Folder, for sites whose hands you download rather than find in a folder. GGPoker's and CoinPoker's zip downloads are opened for you.
- Or drag files, folders or zips onto the window.
- Hands you already have are skipped, and you get a plain summary of what was imported.
Sidebar and a cleaner look
- A sidebar replaces the rows of tabs. Leaks and Study now sit together under Improve. Ctrl+1 to Ctrl+6 jump between sections, and the sidebar can be collapsed.
- Clearer buttons, empty pages that say what to do next, a loading bar while a page loads, and tidier Overview, By Position, Study, Sessions and Population pages.
Hand filters
- A Filters panel on hand lists and on Stats → By Position: pot type, your role, who acted preflop, pot size, players on the flop, flop texture, hole cards, flop action, effective stack and SPR, each with a count of matching hands.
- Save a filter and reuse it in both places.
Villain GTO Exploits card
- Preflop: a villain's fold, call and raise in every spot next to a solver's, with what that means and the hands they showed.
- Postflop: floats, probes, c-bets, folds to raises and more, compared with the player pool, and with the most they can fold against the bet sizes they faced.
- The villain's results graph folds into a one-line strip while you scroll, so there's more room for the tabs below it.
Backups
- Backups are about half the size: they keep all your hands and settings, and your stats are rebuilt from them after a restore.
- Choose where the automatic daily backups go (File → Settings) — somewhere like OneDrive or another drive, so they survive a dead hard drive.
Updates
- The Update menu checks for new versions, shows what changed in each one, and from this version on installs them for you: the download is checked before anything runs.
- A daily check, which you can turn off in Settings.
Also new
- Tools → Database & Diagnostics → Create Support Bundle: your logs and a summary in one file to attach when you contact support. It never includes your hands or licence key.
- New hands during live play are imported in the background, so the window no longer pauses while you play.
- Check boxes are easier to see.
Fixed
- A hand still being written by the poker client could be imported half-finished, and the complete hand was then never imported. Hands are now only imported once they're complete.
- The app could close without warning if you changed the period again before the page had finished loading.
- Leak advice no longer gets cut off mid-word, and the over-folding advice explains the fold limit instead of mislabelling it "MDF".
1.0.0-beta.6 — 2026-09-25
Your preflop play checked against a real GTO solve, postflop leak checks, CoinPoker support, and a rebuilt hand replayer and hand list.
After updating, run Tools → Rebuild Stats Database once. Leaks vs GTO and the new postflop checks need data your older hands don't have yet — until you rebuild, they only cover hands imported from now on.
Leaks vs GTO
- A new view on the Leaks page that grades every preflop decision against GTO solver ranges (6-max, 100bb), using the exact two cards you held — then prices each spot where you fold too much or too little in real bb/100.
- Every leak opens a side-by-side range grid: the solver's strategy next to what you actually did with each hand.
- A spot needs at least 20 folds and 20 continues before it's ranked, so one big pot can't put a spot at the top of the list.
Postflop leak checks
- "Your Leaks" now covers c-bet frequency (overall and in/out of position), check-raise, float and turn/river probe frequency — plus folding too much against each, measured against a Minimum Defense Frequency worked out from each hand's real bet size.
Hand replayer
- Rebuilt with smoother animation: cards are dealt, chips slide into the pot, and the winner is highlighted.
- A new Options menu: hide player names, choose where your seat sits, show chips in big blinds, and show every known hole card.
- View Hand Details: the full hand history, with a Copy button.
Hand lists
- Click any column header to sort (again to reverse, a third time to go back to the original order).
- Hover a shortened cell to see its full text.
- Sorting stays instant even on lists of thousands of hands.
Also new
- CoinPoker hand histories are now imported.
- One-click branded share images from the Matchup Leak cards.
- Leaks pages have a cleaner look: position chips, side-by-side "you vs benchmark" bars, and clearer figures.
- Matchups now read "BB vs BTN open" instead of "BB facing BTN open".
- Help → Check for Updates now works.
Fixed
- The app no longer asks whether a regular opponent is a new screen name of yours just because they sat at all the same tables as you.
- Tooltips now match the dark theme instead of showing as plain system pop-ups.
1.0.0-beta.5 — 2026-09-17
Data Analysis, and leaks priced by matchup instead of blended together.
Data Analysis
- A population-wide scanner that pools river bets per betting line and flags spots where the pool's bluff rate strays furthest from the GTO indifference point — backed by a real showdown sample and a confidence interval, not a spot you'd have to construct by hand. Opens straight into the hand replayer from any finding.
Leaks by Matchup
- Prices preflop leaks in real bb/100 from your own continue-vs-fold results in the specific opponent-position matchup they happen in, instead of ranking by raw deviation from the population — a 17-point gap that comes up constantly can cost far more than a 33-point gap that almost never does.
- Drops VPIP, PFR and the plain 3-Bet/Fold-to-3-Bet stats from the older Leaks by Position scan now that the matchup engine covers that ground with more precision.
- The Leaks page now has a proper three-way switcher (Matchup / Position / Your Leaks) instead of stacking every card on one page.
Fixed
- A real concurrency crash: every synchronous database touch is now locked against the background query threads.
1.0.0-beta.4 — 2026-09-15
Fixes a serious bug affecting every previous release.
- PokerForge no longer opens a pile of "PokerForge is already running" windows when it imports hands. Importing spreads the work across several processes to keep it fast; on Windows each of those was accidentally starting a whole extra copy of the app instead of doing its share of the work. It affected every installed version before this one, and showed up the first time you imported hands. If you hit this, nothing was damaged — the extra windows were idle copies, and your hands and database were untouched. Installing this version was all that's needed.
1.0.0-beta.3 — 2026-09-15
A new look, and groundwork under the hood.
New identity
- PokerForge has a proper logo — a chip mark that now appears in the app header, the taskbar, the installer, and on the website.
Under the hood
- Licence keys are now cryptographically signed rather than checksummed, so a key can be trusted offline and can't be forged by editing a settings file. Nothing is enforced yet — the app remains free and unrestricted during the beta.
1.0.0-beta.2 — 2026-09-15
More rooms, tournaments, and rakeback — plus PokerForge Intelligence, which goes beyond raw stats to tell you what's actually costing you money and what to do about it.
More poker rooms
- PokerStars, GGPoker and Winning Network / Americas Cardroom hand histories are now parsed natively, alongside the existing iPoker and Grosvenor support — verified against real exports of 286,554, 222,843 and 30,863 hands respectively.
Tournaments
- A global $ / T toggle in the filter bar switches Overview, Sessions, Stats and Population between cash and tournament play — the same mode switch PT4 and Hold'em Manager use — rather than isolating tournaments in a separate tab.
Rakeback
- Enter your rakeback deal in Settings and PokerForge tracks what you've actually earned over any date range — shown as its own stat card and as a "Profit & Rakeback" line on the Overview graph.
PokerForge Intelligence
- Leaks by Position — ranks your biggest deviations from your own imported population, by position, weighted by how much each one actually costs you. Click any leak to see the hands behind it.
- Study Queue — a short, prioritized "work through these" plan: up to 3 genuinely different leaks, each with a "Study N Hands" button that opens the replayer loaded with your own recent hands for it.
- Villain Exploit Notes, Similar Players, and pool-wide Insights on the Population tab.
1.0.0-beta.1 — 2026-09-13
First early-access build. Highlights:
- Overview, Sessions, Stats, and Population tabs, each validated against real hand-history exports.
- Grosvenor Poker (XML) and iPoker Network (text) hand-history support.
- Multi-profile support, CSV export, and Backup/Restore.
- Live auto-refresh: a folder watcher imports new hands automatically while the app stays open.
- An automatic, silent database snapshot before each day's first import.
- 221 automated tests covering the stat engine, both parsers, and the SQL query layer.
Known limitations at the time: only Grosvenor and iPoker Network formats were supported, no code signing yet, and no license-key or payment infrastructure yet.
